Our goal is to provide the best possible products & services to our customer, while reducing the common burdens homeowners face during remodeling.

So how do we reduce the Burden Factor?

One common mistake made by remodelers is the use of outdated techniques to estimate an expansive project such as a home addition or major renovation. We use XactRemodel Software, it is the same software insurance companies use to determine actual costs for claims. After years of trying many different techniques, this proved to be the winner for us and our customers. If you do not know it already, it is common for remodelers to suddenly increase the cost of their project when they realized they missed something using their estimating technique. Obviously, customers frown upon these practices and would prefer to know the total cost upfront without being surprised afterwards. So in essence, our estimates are the truest figures on remodeling around, mainly because we are home addition and major renovation experts.

Homeowner Burden Factor Two: Weeks with no job-site activity. Without being specialized in home addition building and major renovations, it's common for remodelers to make several scheduling mistakes. We use all the latest technology available to plan our projects to flow seamlessly along with our experience in tackling the trickiest remodeling projects. When you start a project with us you will receive project calendar detailed with time-frames, names, and phone numbers. With our company you will never feel alienated or forgotten. If a weather delay or similar does occur, you will receive an updated calendar. We learned long ago that inadequate planning and resource scheduling leads to unhappy customers. Today Our customers often comment about our high level of customer service and project organization.

Burden Factor Three: Contracts that leave the details to be determined for interpretation. Imagine this scenario: You hired a remodeler to build a Master Suite Addition, you agreed on the components, the price, and the time frame; you signed a contract. Weeks into the project the contractor looses big on another project and struggles to recover his losses. He remembers that on your contract he didn't detail the fixture selections you agreed on. To recover from the other jobs loss he decided to install the cheaper grade fixtures on your project. You come home and realize that instead of the gorgeous double vanity you picked out for your master bath, he substituted a cheap version instead. Angry with the remodeler, you pull out your contract and look for the clause that states he will give you vanity XXXX from store XXXX; unfortunately, there is no such clause, and you have no proof for the court room either. We detail our contracts because we know it will make you feel reassured about your project, also our secondary reason why we put so much detail into the contract is to show you the clear difference between our company and others. Everyone can make verbal promises, but professionals put their promises in writing, and that is the true difference that our customers value.

B

urden Factor Four: I thought my furniture would fit! If you ask a typical remodeler for an 8' x 10' bedroom addition he will build it. If you ask us for the same thing, we will ask you for type of furniture you plan on putting in there. Why do we do this?, we will design and render the bedroom with the furniture so you can see if an 8' x 10' is truly big enough for you. We learned from past experience that a visual aid works much better than just looking at a tape measure. Our software has the capability to furnish rooms with any object you could think of. Frankly, building a home addition or conducting a major renovation without a true design consultation can be a huge headache; especially when you decide to make changes after construction already began.

Burden Factor Five: "Yeah they say they build additions and renovations, but mostly their company does roofing!." Many times a homeowner makes the common mistake of hiring an inexperienced addition builder or home renovation expert. Before we go into a list of pitfalls that usually occur, we rather ask you this question. Who do you think can build a home addition that will look like it was there all along, someone that might have built a few over the years or a company that can prove to you without a doubt that they are home addition & major renovation experts? When you choose a professional the project will be designed properly, your mechanicals will be connected with energy efficiency in mind, and everything promised will be detailed on the contract. Subsequently, when you choose someone that cannot prove their expertise, the design can be inappropriate and bad for resale value, the entire energy efficiency of your home afterwards can suffer, and lastly their verbal promises can result in a legal headache.

When you remodel you can save money by doing the work yourself, but do your research when you need a professional to tackle a task you cannot do or do not have the time for. If more consumers practiced due diligence, we would not hear so many stories about what can go wrong when you hire the wrong guy.

If you have questions about our company please contact us. We take pride in the fact that we are one of the best choices for home addition building  and major renovations in Connecticut, and we achieved that recognition from people like you.
